Sweden includes people aged 65 in Coronavirus booster jabs


(MENAFN) On Wednesday, October 27, 2021 the government of Sweden said the country will begin to provide Coronavirus booster jabs to health care employees and 65-year-old individuals and more to regulatory expand the third shots to all qualified groups throughout different periods of time.

Health Minister Lena Hallengren stated during a media briefing, "It is thanks to the fact that so many have been vaccinated that we can live our lives a little bit more as usual,” and added, "now we offer booster shots to 1.5 million more."

At a previous time, individuals in aging care houses and those at the age of 80 or older qualified for a booster jab six months following the second jab.

About 85 percent of all Sweden aged 16 and more have got one vaccine jab and 80 percent have had two or more jabs.
