Turkey: Turkish, Russian freight vessels crash in Istanbul's Bosphorus Strait
(MENAFN) On Saturday, Sep. 25 a Turkish and a Russian dry freight vessels crashed in the Bosphorus Strait in Istanbul, with no losses announced.
The NTV broadcaster noted that marginal damages happened at the vessels, further saying that a number of rescue boats were sent to the site.
It stated that the traffic on the 30-km-long Bosphorus Strait, one of the most crowded waterways in the world that links the Black Sea and the Marmara Sea, has been provisionally disturbed because of the collision.
The Russian ship called Rusich 10 and the Turkish vessel Tahsin Imamoglu were passing through the strait in the very direction, traveling in the direction of the Black Sea, Turkish Directorate General of Coastal Safety noted in a report.
