(MENAFN- Colombo Gazette) Veteran comedian Tennyson Cooray passed away today. He was 68-years-old.

Tennyson Cooray passed away while receiving treatment at the Colombo National Hospital.

He was admitted to hospital following a sudden illness when he passed away

One of Sri Lanka's best-known comedians, Cooray was best known for comedy roles in films such as Re Daniel Dawal Migel franchise, Cheriyo franchise, Peralikarayo, Somy Boys and Wada Bari Tarzan franchise.

In addition to acting, he has also worked as a director, scriptwriter, singer and lyrics writer. (Colombo Gazette)
