Chine Telecom posts decline in revenues, profits in 2019

One of the major telecommunications companies in China, China Telecom, said in a report that its operating revenues and profits suffered a decline in the earlier year of 2019 in spite of the rising number in service custoemrs.
The yearly financial report by the company showed that the net profits of China Telecom that are attributable to shareholders declined 3.3 percent in 2019 compared to a year earlier to set at a total of USD2.9 billion, or 20.52 billion yuan.
The report also said that the operating revenue of the company lost 0.4 percent in the year to stand at a total of USD52.94 billion.
The mobile subscribers of the company came in at 336 million at the end of the earlier year 2019, marking a rise of 32.27 million users, 83.8 percent out of the total customers were 4G subscribers.
