Pakistan- Mobile app launched in KP to trace missing children

(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mehmood Khan on Wednesday formally inaugurated mobile application 'Mera Bacha Alert' for tracing the missing children in the province.

The app has been included in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Citizen Portal as a new feature. It will also be included in the Pakistan Citizen Portal.

The mobile application has complete information about filing of report about the missing children to facilitate the parents and relevant departments. The chief minister has appreciated the KP Performance and Management Unit for creating the app. He said the app will help in tracing the missing children and reduce the incidents of abuse.

According to a statement issued from the Chief Minister Secretariat, the need for introducing the app was felt after increasing incidents of children going missing, their abuse and murder. The responsibility of creating the app was given to the Performance and Management Unit.

The statement said the report of missing children can be filed on Mera Bacha Alert. The app has the facility to lodge written complaint along with the photo of the missing child. After lodging of the report on the app, a message will be sent to the concerned district police officer, regional police officer, inspector general police and chief secretary and first information report (FIR) will be filed. Details about the missing child, formation of police teams, investigation teams and evidences will appear on the dashboard of the concerned district police officer.

The statement said the whole process of tracing of the missing child and overall progress in the case will be monitored. The app will also help in formation of directory of all the missing children in KP. The chief minister and chief secretary will also monitor the app. The directory about all police stations, Edhi Centre and other relevant humanitarian organisations will also be available on the web portal. Facility for coordination between the police call centre and Safe City Project will also be available.

Mehmood Khan said this app will prove helpful in tracing the missing children. He said the provincial government will extend every cooperation with the relevant departments for achieving the objectives of the app.
