Japan: ships crash leave 4 uncounted for


(MENAFN) Japan Coast Guard declared on Sunday that four people are uncounted for after two cargo ships crashed on the Pacific Ocean to Japan's east.

the coast guard confirmed that the 499-ton Sumiho Maru and another 499-ton ship, the Sensho Maru, crashed at around 12 km off Inubosaki in Chiba Prefecture around 2:10 a.m. local time.


The Sensho Maru, based in Imabari of Ehime Prefecture, capsized and four of its five team members are uncounted for.

The male captain of Sensho Maru, aged 60, was saved by the patrol boat of the coast guard.
