Aqaba, Apr. 23 (Petra) -- Aqaba ports will receive four cruise ships carrying some 12,000 tourists Thursday, according to Director General of the Aqaba Company for Ports Operation and Management, Mansour Gogazeh.
At dawn Thursday, three ships will lay anchor in the old port, while the fourth will dock at the new southern port, he said, adding that after the passengers disembark, they will be transported to various tourist attractions including Petra and Wadi Rum.
In a statement Tuesday, Gogazeh pointed out that tourism in Aqaba has picked up with a 10 percent rise in the number of foreign visitors in the first quarter of 2019, compared to the same period last year.
