EU lengthens Iranian sanctions until 2020
(MENAFN) The European Union (EU) decided on Monday to lengthen restrictive measures it imposed against Iran to last for an additional year until April 13, 2020.
In a statement, the EU Council explained the decision to have been made due to "serious human rights violations in Iran."
Under the EU sanctions, the statement revealed, Iran will suffer "a travel ban and an asset freeze against 82 people and one entity."
It added that the sanctions include "a ban on exports to Iran of equipment which might be used for internal repression and of equipment for monitoring telecommunications."
