With completely revamped tour offerings, Big Blue Air Helicopters now boasts aerial tour flights to previously inaccessible scenic locations around Palm Springs. The most popular new offering being Operation Mountain Climber, 'During this operation we takeoff from the airport and fly between some of the towering windmills that are iconic to Palm Springs. From there we turn towards the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway and climb up the steep slope alongside the tram. Near the top, the Palm Springs Tramway Restaurant is visible. This is as far as most people get to go, however we continue to climb over 2,000ft higher all the way to the top of San Jacinto Mountain. Most wouldn't suspect but this is the largest mountain escarpment (continual rise) in the lower 48 states, and you just climbed it in a helicopter! From there we descend down the south side of the mountains eventually coming through the Tahquitz Indian Canyons. Here you will see a dense growth of palm trees through the canyon, looking like a tropical getaway. In the winter, you will see water flowing down the canyons in huge volumes sending water spraying over several waterfalls. To cap the tour off, you will fly back to the airport over the west side of Palm Springs, including the downtown area and the iconic Bob Hope house. Designed to allow visitors and Palm Springs locals to thoroughly enjoy the famous National Park without making it a full day excursion. The experienced team at Big Blue Air Helicopters will fly you out of Palm Springs to a rendezvous point near the edge of Joshua Tree National Park. From there, you have the option to board an air-conditioned H2 Hummer for an executive experience, or an open-air seating H1 Hummer for an off-road safari through the National Park. You will get to see the iconic attractions or the top of Eureka Peak depending on which of the tour offerings you pick. Once your safari has ended, the air-conditioned helicopter will be waiting with refreshments for your return trip to Palm Springs.
