Bolivia: gas blast causes 6 deaths, 28 injuries


(MENAFN) While the participants were busy at the entrance of Orura's Carnival, a gust out broke its way through the street parallel to the carnival and spread till more than 50 yards, Freddy Betancurt, Deputy Commander, explained.

Betancurt also added that police believe the main reason behind this is hot oil melting the tubes of vendor's gas canister. Romel Rana, Regional police Commander, stated that the blast ended up killing six people and wounding 28 others.

Orura's Carnival, which is recognized as a world cultural site by the UNESCO, would gather people not only from Bolivia but also from all over the world.
