Jordan- Real estate trading amounts to JOD6.062bln in 2017


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Jan. 7 (Petra) -- Real estate trading in 2017 amounted to JD6.062 billion, down by 14 percent when compared with the JOD7.057 billion recorded in 2016, according to official data.

The figures by the Department of Land and Survey (DLS) revealed that Amman accounted for the largest chunk of real estate trading in the Kingdom in 2017 at 71 percent or JOD4.289 billion of the total.

Additionally, the DLS's revenues dropped by 7 percent to JOD310 million compared with JOD333 million in 2016, the data showed. Iraqi nationals were the top non-Jordanian buyers in the real estate sector with the value of their trading standing at JOD152 million or 49 percent of sales to non-Jordanians. They are followed by Saudis (JOD63.4 million) and Syrians with JOD18.1 million.
