Scotland's economy grows 1 percent in Q1
(MENAFN) Latest statistics showed that Scotland's economy grew past its pre-recession peak to a new record high, with a 1 percent increase in the first quarter of 2014, Xinhua reported.
In the January-March period, the latest gross domestic product (GDP) statistics released by Scotland's Chief Statistician showed that total output in the economy grew by 1 percent over the prior quarter.
Output in Scotland is now 0.4 percent above its pre-recession level, while the British figure for the first quarter was still 0.6 percent below pre-recession levels, according to the statistics.
