South Sudan is newest World Bank member

(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) South Sudan, the world's newest country, is
taking up membership in the World Bank, dpa cited the international development
lender as announcing Tuesday.
The Republic of South Sudan broke away last year from Sudan after
a referendum, which was held as part of a peace deal that ended the
south's long-running civil war with the Khartoum-based government.
South Sudan Finance Minister Kosti Manibe Ngai is scheduled to
sign documents to join the World bank Group on Wednesday, on the
sidelines of this week's twice-annual meetings of the World Bank and
International Monetary Fund at their headquarters in Washington.
