Israel not interested in Gaza humanitarian crisis: minister


(MENAFN) Quds Press reported Israel's Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz to have unveiled Tel Aviv's target to secure a long-term arrangement in the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli energy minister unveiled Egypt and the UN to be lending a hand in achieving his country's goal.

The matter has been under discussions for few months, the minister confirmed during an interview with Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth.

Steinitz stated "we support absolute calm and we are ready to study economic and humanitarian measures to be implemented [in Gaza]," stressing "we are not interested in a humanitarian crisis in Gaza."

He added "this will allow us to be free to deal with important questions such as the Iranian and Syrian issues."
