China charges 12 in illegal waste disposal

(MENAFN) Twelve people have been charges with throwing over 2,500 tonnes of industrial debris into the Yangtze River in China's Anhui Province.

The people's procuratorate of Jinghu District, Wuhu City, filed the lawsuit against a waste treatment company in nearby Jiangsu Province.

The company has allegedly subcontracted its waste to unfit parties for demolition in January 2017.

Three ships have lifted the waste from Jiangsu and neighboring Zhejiang Province to Tongling City in Anhui in October 2017.
