Oman- Critical care patients shifted back to Sultan Qaboos Hospital in Salalah


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- A medical response team, represented by the Ministry of Health in cooperation with the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO), on Monday airlifted several intensive care patientsand their dependants to Dhofar.

The patients had been evacuated to various hospitals in the sultanate after the Sultan Qaboos Hospital in Salalah was closed before Cyclone Mekunu hit the governorate.

The ministry team transferred a number of patients who were receiving treatment at intensive care units in Khoula Hospital, The Royal Hospital, Nizwa Hospital, Sohar Hospital in addition to a number of other hospitals in the country.

A number of RAFO aircraft transferred the patients to Salalah from where they were shifted to Sultan Qaboos Hospital in ambulances. On May 24, the Ministry of Health had coordinated with RAFO in transporting 30 critical cases: pre-term infants and intensive care children and intensive care adults.
