Turkey says 23 PKK soldiers killed


(MENAFN) Turkish military claimed it has killed 23 fighters of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in one week during airstrikes in Kurdistan Region border areas.

The Turkish General Staff said in a statement that figures were for airstrikes between May 10 and May 17.

During the operations, seven shelters used by the PKK were destroyed while 49 improvised explosives were defused, state-run Anadolu Agency reported.

According to the same report, at least one Turkish soldier was killed during the operations, and five others were wounded.
