UAE: man fakes woman account to steal money


(MENAFN) Abu Dhabi Police's CID have detained an Arab man, aged 30, for signing up fake accounts on social media and deploying them into robbing money from clueless users online.

Director of the Criminal Investigation Department at Abu Dhabi Police, Brigadier Tariq Khalfan Al Ghool declared that the accuser has robbed from several men by false Snapchat accounts.

The man made accounts as a woman, and requested USD 136 from the victims in order to meet up with "her".

The police official declared that after he gets the money, he would decide of the place and time of meeting, but never show up.
