(MENAFN- UkrinForm) One Ukrainian soldier was killed, and another one was wounded in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area in eastern Ukraine over the past day.
Ukrainian Defense Ministry's Spokesperson for ATO issues Dmytro Hutsuliak said this at a press briefing on Saturday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
"One Ukrainian serviceperson was killed, and another one was wounded in enemy attacks. The soldier was immediately taken a hospital where he receivedthe necessarymedical assistance," he said.
Hutsuliak also added that Russian-backed militants continued to violate the ceasefire regime. Over the past day, they launched 36 attacks on the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, using weapons prohibited by the Minsk agreements.
