BD to host Afghans for T20 instead of ODI series

(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) KABUL (Pajhwok): Bangladesh will play a three-match Twenty20 series instead of proposed one-day international (ODI) matches against Afghanistan.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board€™s decision is aimed at preparations for the next edition of the World T20 in 2020, according to Crickbuzz.

At its third meeting in Mirpur on Wednesday, the BCB board of directors announced the T20I series would be played in the Dehradun city of India€™s Utter Pradesh state.

"We have ICC T20 World Cup ahead but we are not playing enough T20I matches. So we decided to play the series against Afghanistan in T20 format,'' BCB President Nazmul Hasan was quoted as saying.

The T20 series would be played in Dehradun as other venues are preoccupied. Hasan had earlier said they would prefer to play the series in Kolkata or Bangalore.
