Wriddhiman Saha close to full fitness ahead of IPL

Sunrisers Hyderabad will be thrilled to find out that India's Test wicket-keeper, Wriddhiman Saha is now close to gaining full fitness.

The 33-year-old, who has been one of India's best performers in 5-day cricket, missed the last two Tests against South Africa due to a hamstring injury.

However, he has recovered well and is raring to get back to the cricket field.


"Will be fit in a few days" says Saha

"My recovery is in the last leg and I will be fit in a few more days. I am currently at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru and the medical team is assessing my progress on a daily basis," Saha told Sportstar.

Saha is now keen on returning back to cricket.

He was upset about missing out on the chance to play for India in South Africa but is excited about the prospect of playing for a new franchise (Hyderabad) in the Indian Premier League.

He wants to bring a balance to the Sunrisers Hyderabad's squad. They bought him during auctions for Rs. 5 crore.


Saha broke MS Dhoni's record before being injured

Saha, who played the first Test against South Africa, set a record for the most number of dismissals (10 catches) by an Indian wicket-keeper in a single match. He eclipsed former India captain MS Dhoni's record of 9 dismissals.
