Kazakhstan triples car output

Kazakhstan produced 2,105 vehicles worth 12.1 billion tenge in January 2018, reads a report issued by the Union of Enterprises of the Automobile Industry of Kazakhstan "KazAvtoProm".

The volume of output in physical terms exceeded the last year's indicator by 3.6 times.

The production of passenger cars increased by 3.7 times, reaching 2,041 units. The output of trucks (52 units) exceeded the result of a year ago by 13 times. The production of specialized auto equipment kept unchanged (2 units). The output of bus technology was reduced from 7 to 1 unit.

The sale of domestic car factories in the first month of 2018 reached 1,340 vehicles, which is 77.7 percent higher than last year's figure (754 vehicles). The market share of enterprises of the auto industry increased to 41.2 percent compared to 30.5 percent in the same period last year.

JSC "AZIA AVTO" occupies the dominant position in the segment of local cars - 915 cars sold, which makes up 68.3 percent of the total sale of domestic cars. LLP "SaryarkaAvtoProm" sold 327 vehicles (share in the segment - 24.4 percent), LLP SemAZ - 56 vehicles ( 4.2 percent), KAMAZ-Engineering - 21 vehicles (1.6 percent) and LLP Hyundai Trans Auto 21 vehicles ( 1, 6 percent).

The share of the auto industry in the GDP structure in January 2018 amounted to 12.1 billion tenge ( with an increase of 2.4 times over the year), which exceeds twice the similar figures of the pharmaceutical and light industry. Investments of enterprises of the auto industry in fixed assets reached 11.6 million tenge.
