Zabul: Police officer escape unhurt in bomb attack


(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) QALAT (Pajhwok): Two bodyguards of the deputy police chief for southern Zabul province were injured when their vehicle struck a roadside bomb in Arghandab district, an official said on Tuesday.

Amir Jan Alkozai, the district€™s administrative chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News the explosion occurred in Keshan locality late on Monday. However, Ghulam Jilani Farahi, the deputy police chief, escaped unhurt.

He said the deputy police chief was among the security personnel whose vehicle hit a roadside bomb during conducted a clearing operation. Jilani survived the blast but two of his bodyguards were injured.

Two militants were killed and three others wounded during the operations, the district chief said, adding three ANA soldiers and a policeman were also wounded.

There has been no word so far from Taliban in this regard.
