Qatar and Kuwait to enhance air transport ties

Kuwait: Chairman of Qatar's Civil Aviation Authority H E Abdullah bin Nasser Turki Al Subaie met with President of Directorate General of Civil Aviation in Kuwait, Sheikh Salman Sabah Al Salem Al Hamoud Al Sabah.

They discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation between the two countries in the fields of civil aviation and air transport.

Al Subaie stressed the strength of the social and economic relations between the two countries and the keenness to upgrade them.

He expressed the hope that this visit to the State of Kuwait will achieve the desired objectives.

Al Subaie also expressed his happiness about the recent participation of Qatar in Kuwait Aviation Show, which was successful in its first edition, adding that this success gave a message that Kuwait is ready to enter as a major competitor in the aviation market in the region.

Following the meeting, the Director General of Kuwait Civil Aviation Eng. Yousef Al Fouzan said the meeting discussed means of cooperation in the fields of air transport, safety systems and exchange of experiences between the two sides to hold joint technical sessions.

Al Fouzan explained that the meeting also touched on the possibility of using the Fifth Freedom, which provides for transport exchange rights and the provision of facilities in a manner that achieves flexibility for air carriers between the two countries.
