Facebook to launch postcard verification plan for election ads

(MENAFN) Facebook has declared it was considering postcards to be sent in the US mail so as to confirm the location of individuals who ask the purchase of advertisements in connection with the US election nominees.

The plan was explained by Facebook's director Katie Harbath as having a postcard delivered to the address of the advertiser along with a code required to be shared in order for the booking to be completed.

The move has appeared as part of the probe into alleged Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, since Facebook is cooperating with the US on the matter.

However, Facebook's director reportedly noted that the plan "won't solve everything", she also did not disclose the date for the postcard verification process launch.
