Kuwaiti FM heads to New York for UNSC sessions


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Feb 18 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah has left for New York to head UN Security Council (UNSC) sessions as Kuwait holds rotating UNSC presidency for February.

The UNSC will hold a session on Tuesday under chairmanship of the Kuwaiti minister on the current Middle East situation, with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas attending.

Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled will also preside over a high-level UNSC session on the UN Charter on February 21, convened by Kuwait.

He will further head a UNSC meeting on the latest Palestinian developments on February 22.

Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled has an accompanying delegation that comprises a number of senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. (end) mt
