Azerbaijan invites int'l structures, diplomatic missions to observe election
Trend:
The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan invited all international structures and diplomatic missions to observe the April 11 elections, CEC Chairman Mazahir Panahov said at a meeting of the Commission on Feb. 14.
'Before the approval by the Constitutional Court, the results of the election are controlled by the CEC,' Panahov said. 'No executive authority representative, commission member or non-authorized person should allow undesirable situations. The CEC invited all international structures and diplomatic missions to observe the election process. If they have any questions, we must give them an answer as part of mutual cooperation."
The main responsibility of the district election commissions is to fully comply with the requirements of the Electoral Code of Azerbaijan, and the Central Election Commission (CEC) should keep this issue in the center of attention, he added.
