(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: A resolution has been submitted in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Secretariat seeking probe into alleged corruption in the Billion Tree Tsunami project.

Ziaullah Afridi, a disgruntled MPA of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), submitted the resolution on Wednesday. Mr Afridi said in his resolution that the PTI chief Imran Khan and the KP government had claimed that they will plant one billion trees in four years. He said Imran Khan had claimed in a recent statement that the KP government has surpassed the target of a billion trees by planting 180 million additional trees. However, he said, it has been revealed in official documents that only 240 million trees have been planted.

The resolution demanded probe of alleged corruption in the project, irregularities in counting of trees and giving trees without proper tender by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
