UAE- KT time is quality time

The latest National Readership Survey 2017 by Ipsos shows that Khaleej Times readers spent 9 minutes with the last issue of their favourite newspaper, enjoying the engaging and informative news, views and reviews that the daily offers 365 days a year.

The year 2017 saw us refresh KT's news and features lineup as well as the daily's design and presentation in line with reader preference for short, snappy, visual-led stories. We leveraged our design capabilities to offer more infographics and listicles to present information in easy and quick reads, respecting both our readers' time as well as their growing hunger for such information. At the same time, we offered more in terms of relaxed reading and longform articles through our Diversions and Expressions features over the weekend.

Our readers clearly loved it, as shown by the Ipsos survey. The average time spent reading the last edition was a full 2 minutes more than the time reported in the previous year's survey (the average time spent by KT readers reading the daily's last edition was 7 minutes in 2016).

In this busy age when most of us are multi-tasking to beat the clock and are constantly in the search for lost time, we take your spending more time reading your newspaper of choice as your indisputable vote of confidence in the quality and credibility of Khaleej Times' journalism, storytelling and presentation.

In fact, 2017 data shows that 7.6 per cent of KT readers spent more than 15 minutes reading the newspaper's last issue compared with under 1 per cent of our readers who did so in 2016. This shows that, despite the rapid and unprecedented growth in the UAE's digital news footprint and social media platforms (led by KT), our readers also chose to spend more of their time on our print offering.
