Pakistan- Facilitator of main accused in Asma Rani murder case arrested

(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) KOHAT: An accused who helped Mujahid Afridi escape from Pakistan after the murder of medical student Asma Rani in Kohat has been arrested.

Police said the accused, Shahzeb used to give information to Mujahid Afridi, the alleged killer of Asma Rani, about Asma. It said Shahzeb was accompanying Mujahid Afridi on the day he killed Asma Rani. On the information provided by Sadiqullah Afridi, the brother of Mujahid Afridi, who has already been arrested, the weapon used in the murder of Asma Rani has also been recovered.

Asma Rani was shot dead allegedly by Mujahid Afridi on 28 January in Kohat over rejecting his marriage proposal. Police said Mujahid Afridi escaped to Saudi Arabia after committing the murder, while his brother, who was accomplice in the case, has been arrested.

The Supreme Court of Pakistan has also taken suo moto notice of the incident.
