'The technical experts seminar will contribute to the development of football in Qatar, especially with the FIFA World Cup due in less than five years, Thani told reporters at the conclusion.
'Several matters of importance, like the development of trainers and coaches, training programmes for young footballers etc were discussed at the workshop. 'Personally, as the head of the development programme with QFA, I too learnt a lot of things, added Thani. He said Qatar will look forward to further collaborate with world football gover ning body FIFA regularly so that Qatar football can continue to develop at a technical level.
'We have good infrastructure with several stadiums and other facilities. Plus we have the Aspire Academy. By collaborating with FIFA we need to develop a philosophy that would help Qatar in the coming years.
'We are also looking at our experts visiting foreign countries when such seminars are held abroad.
Jamal El-Deen, a Moroccan expert representing who attended the seminar, said it was a 100% success
'The seminar was important because it came up with several recommendations from experts to boost the development of football on the global stage, said Jamal el-Deen.
'It provided a direct connection between FIFA and the national federations and was a 100% success.
'The Qatar Football Association (QFA) was a key partner in this endeavor and we expect that all the recommendations made at the seminar will be implemented.
He also praised the QFA for organising the event. 'Qatar provided all facilities to ensure the event was a success. There was no shortcoming at any level.
The purpose of the four-day workshop was to inform the various FIFA experts taking part, of FIFA's new ‘FIFA 2.9' structure and philosophy, and tell them of the recently-introduced programme to improve technical excellence.
