Dubai, UAE, January 17, 2018: With the mantra ‘train like you must win and play like you can't lose' Danube Group bold and beautiful ladies are all set for the Global Goals World Cup UAE (GGWCup UAE) — the first women's only global football tournament in the Middle East supporting the United Nations' 17 Global Goals. The tournament is all set to take place on 19th January at Sustainable City. The brand ambassadors for the tournaments are passionate artist and philanthropist Dr. Sana Sajan, Bollywood heartthrob John Abraham and Game of Thrones cast Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.

The team is named as ‘Ball of Duty' and the squad comprises of Pinky, Jonnali, Shikha, Sanaz, Anamika and the captain Vrushali. The name and logo are designed by the captain of the Squad to support and create awareness about the quality education. The design of the jersey is certainly creative which resonates that it's our duty to improve the quality of education across the world.

Adel Sajan, Director Danube Group said: I am overwhelmed to see the commitment and positive attitude of all the six girls. At Danube we believe in empowering individuals and the team ‘Ball of Duty' is one of the live examples of the same. For me, the team is already a champion, good luck to all of them.

The captain Vrusali said: 'The GGWCup is an inspiring tournament that connects sports and women with a goal that can inspire millions to work together to make this world a beautiful place to live. I and my team feel proud to be associated with the tournament. Honestly, I am fond of football but this is for the first time I am playing for a cause. This definitely gives me an extra thrill and excitement. Our team is prepared for the tournament and we are working on various initiatives to support our goal. Each one of us strongly believes that quality education has the power to transform the society.

She further added: 'When you will see the jersey you will understand the reason we selected the design and colour. Also, the logo holds a strong message.
The one-day five-a-side tournament consisting of 24 women's teams will be organised by Dubai-headquartered Sustainable Mindz and Denmark-based Eir Soccer under the patronage of the Danish Embassy in Abu Dhabi, Save the Children and the United Nations Development Programme.

Matches will be played under different rules with points awarded for scoring goals as well as working towards the 17 Global Goals for Sustainable Development, such as ending poverty, zero hunger and quality education. Women of all ages are invited to play at the tournament with a team of 5 to 8 female players and choosing one of the 17 goals to advocate. The winning team gets a spot in the global final to be held in New York City in September 2018.
