Differently enabled individuals show love for Qatar

Minister of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs, H E Dr Issa bin Saad Al Jafali Al Nuaimi honoured yesterday two Qatari families having children who are differently enabled for providing excellent care to them at the end of an operetta show at Katara Drama Theater.

Best Buddies said it is planning to launch a programme, that will be free of cost, to train about 50 graduates with persons with disability to make them eligible for job market. The show, jointly organised by Best Buddies Qatar and Shafallah, was held to mark International Day of People with Disabilities that falls on December 3. The day is being marked worldwide for this year under a theme ‘towards sustainable, resilient and inclusive societies through participation of all' to empower the people with disability socially, economically and culturally.

The operetta aimed at showing the participation of persons with disability in expressing love and loyalty to Qatar and its leaders in the current situation.

The show also meant to deliver a message that people with disability can also serve the community. In a part the show, the website of Shafallah was hacked. When people with disability came to know they found the hacking source and caught the hacker.

'Operetta was meant to show the social inclusion of people with disability, Laalei Abu Alfain, the Executive Director of Best Buddies Qatar told The Peninsula on the sideline of the celebration. 'They are living side by side with us. They have rights and duties, they have right to talk and express their love to the country, she added.

Laalei Abu Alfain, the Executive Director of Best Buddies Qatar, said that operetta of Best Buddies showed the inclusion of people with disability in the society as normal civilian. The International Day of People with Disabilities is great an opportunity to focus on the issues of people with disability.

To make the celebration special for this year, the Best Buddies in collaboration with Shafallh create a social national operetta to spread awareness about this section of the community.

Best Buddies has announced to launch a programme free of cost to train about 50 graduates from people with disability enabling them to join job market. 'We are going to train them according to their skills and help them to find suitable jobs in labour market, said Abu Alfain.

'The training workshop programme will start by the beginning of next year. Initially we plan to accommodate 50 candidates where 25 will be girls and remaining will be boys.

These students will be trained to integrate in labour market and the training period will be three years.
