QCHP offers educational modules on healthcare

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The accreditation department of Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners (QCHP) has collaborated with BMJ Learning, a leading international provider of online CPD modules, to provide free access to licensed healthcare practitioners.
Over 11,000 healthcare professionals in Qatar have registered and completed hundreds of thousands of CPD modules across 70 speciality areas in BMJ Learning. These educational modules fall under Category 2 self-directed learning activities of the National CPD Framework.
This comes after a successful collaboration (2015 -2016) between QCHP, the Ministry of Public Health and BMJ that has helped provide thousands of healthcare practitioners free access to BMJ Learning educational modules.
After the UK, Qatar has logged the highest number of BMJ Learning module completions for any country during the agreement.
Modules are available in a variety of formats including video, podcast and 3D animations, all peer-reviewed and continuously updated to reflect the very latest guidance.
A survey of healthcare professionals in Qatar showed that many were content with the availability of a variety of free educational modules. The majority have said that this has helped them update their knowledge and improve patient care in addition to helping them meet their CPD requirements. A large percentage expressed their wish to have continued access to such an educational resource.
Dr Samar Aboulsoud, acting CEO and director of accreditation, QCHP, said her organisation is committed to continuously ensuring that quality educational resources and CPD opportunities are available to all healthcare practitioners in Qatar through an internationally recognised accreditation system aimed at
improved patient outcomes.
'Our partnership with BMJ Learning has been very rewarding to our practitioners. Practitioners have expressed appreciation for the QCHP for supporting them by providing quality, easily accessible online resources.
Dr Kieran Walsh, clinical director, BMJ Learning, said, 'We are delighted that our partnership with the Qatar Ministry of Public Health continues to grow. Our content is designed to help healthcare professionals keep up to date with the latest developments and deliver high quality patient care. We look forward to continue working towards that goal for health professionals across the Qatar region.
