Pakistan- Peshawar University reverses decision of fee hike after students' protest


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR, 13 December: The administration of the University of Peshawar (UoP) has taken back the decision of 10 percent increase in fees after protest by the students.

Decision to this effect was taken at a meeting at the university headed by Vice Chancellor (VC) Dr Muhammad Asif on Tuesday. The meeting discussed the issue of protest by the students against increase in fees and decided to take back the decision. A notification was also issued after the meeting which stated that students taking admissions in different programmes of 2017-18 will not require submitting fees with 10 percent increase and the old fee structure has been restored.

After acceptance of demands, the students have ended their several days long protest and they will observe thanksgiving day today (Wednesday).
