Pakistan- Green Schools: DI Khan Forest Dept to plant 50,000 saplings in schools


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) DI KHAN: The district Forest Department on Tuesday launched Green School programme at government school to create awareness among the students about importance of planting trees.

An event was organized here at a school where Commissioner Dera Division Abdul Ghafoor Baig was present as a chief guest.

Speaking on the occasion, he urged the students to grow as many plants as they could as it was very essential to contain rising temperature.

He asked other departments to take such initiatives and launch awareness drives across the district to counter the environmental hazards.

Forest officials said that around 50,000 saplings would be planted in government schools throughout the district.

They urged the teachers and parents to participate in the project and teach their children importance of trees. The commissioners directed the Forest officials to ensure masses participation to make the project a success by achieving the desired target.
