North Korea: Lazarus Group hack into cell phones


(MENAFN) As stated by McAfee researchers, the North Korea-linked hacking group best known as the Lazarus Group has approached its first attempts to hack cell phones.

The Hill was informed by McAfee Lead Scientist and Principal Engineer Christiaan Beek "two weeks ago, the mobile team came to my team with malware targeting South Korea, it contained artifacts we had seen before."

The malware is said to be transmitted by a tainted version of a bible study application. The clean version of the app was downloaded 1,300 times from Google Play while the source of the tainted one is yet to be detected.
