UK: bells to be chimed in celebration of WWI end

(MENAFN) As remembrance for WWI which came into an end a hundred years ago, in 2018 1,400 bell ringers will be hired as a symbol for the 1,400 bell ringers who lost their lives during the war.

In the following year on 11 November, churches and cathedrals' bells along with Big Ben are to chime as to mark the Armistice Day's anniversary.

Following the restriction throughout the four-year war, Church bells have been struck in merriment when the peace agreement was announced in the year 1918.
