(MENAFN)1 million Rohingya citizens have fled across its border from violence in Myanmar to which forces Bangladesh to faces an unsustainable condition. And its government should do its best to bring them home, Bangladesh's UN envoy said on Monday.
After the Rohingya insurgent attacks on security posts encountered the furious Myanmar army in Rakhine state almost 600,000 people have crossed the border since August 25. And the UN called this "ethnic cleansing"
"This is an untenable situation," confirmed Shameem Ahsan, Bangladesh's ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva, the UN pledging conference. "Despite claims to the contrary, violence in Rakhine state has not stopped. Thousands still enter on a daily basis."
