South Africa's Hashim Amla breaks Virat Kohli's record

In the 1st of three match ODI series against Bangladesh, South Africa chased down a target of 279 set by the visitors with loss of no wickets, and 43 balls remaining.
Quinton de Kock, and Hashim Amla got the job done and in the process broke some records.
Amla, 110*, scored his 26th ODI century and broke Virat Kohli's record in reaching the milestone.
Fewer innings to reach 26 ODIs than Kohli
Amla's recent records
Whereas Kohli took 166 ODI innings for 26 ODI tons, Amla took only 154 innings to score his 26th ODI hundred.
He also leads "fastest to 25 ODI centuries" list, having done so in 151 innings.
Earlier this year, the South African also broke Kohli's record as fastest player to 7,000 ODI runs, achieving the feat in 150 innings as opposed to Kohli's 169.

Quinton de Kock, 168*, scored his 13th ODI century, equalling Kohli's records to bring up 13 tons in 86 innings, the joint-second fastest, after Amla who did it in 83 innings.
Highest target chased down without loss of wickets
Partnership record
279 is the highest target in ODI history to be chased down without losing any wicket. The previous best was 255, chased down by England against Sri Lanka.
The 282* partnership between Amla and Kock is the third highest opening-wicket stand, the highest being Sanath Jayasuriya-Upul Tharanga for 286 runs against England, followed by David Warner-Travis Head for 284-run stand against Pakistan.
Joint-second most for pair scoring hundreds in same innings

This is the fourth time that Amla and Kock have both scored hundreds in the same ODI innings, the second-most for any pair in ODIs alongside Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly. Only Amla and AB de Villiers were involved in 5 such instances.
