Eighteen spectators injured in barrier collapse during French match

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) PARIS, Sept 30 (KUNA) -- At least 18 fans were injured, including five seriously, when a barrier collapsed at the front of a stand during a French Premier League match between Amiens and Lille.
The incident took place at the Stade de la Licorne at minute 16 of the match just one minute after Lille scored its first goal.
Dozens of Lille fans, celebrating Fode Ballo-Toure's goal, gathered at the barrier near the away section and then fell onto the pitch.
The referee called the game off after the incident and the Stadium evacuated while medical teams rushed into the scene to rescue the injured. (end) mgz.gb
