The Kingdom's permanent representative to the United Nations, Abdullah bin Yahya al-Maalami, said: "The Kingdom has not only affirmed its support for the Palestinian brothers but has taken practical positions to advocate and achieve peace. In this regard, Saudi Arabia has submitted its historic peace initiative adopted by the Beirut Arab Summit in 2002 and became Arab peace initiative, and represented an important historical turning point in the peace process. It established a new phase to end the Arab-Israeli conflict and lay the foundation for a just and comprehensive peace. The Amman Declaration issued by the last Arab summit meeting in March reaffirms this initiative and strengthens the commitment of the Arab side, which is still reaching out to serious understanding and negotiation. The Israeli side is expected to respond Hand-stretched out peace ".
He pointed out that one of the most dangerous aspects of the conflict in Palestine is what Israel is carrying out with plans to Judaize the city of Quds, change its demographic structure, distort its Arab Islamic identity, and tamper with Islamic and Christian holy sites.
"Saudi Arabia rejects any prejudice against Al-Quds and any attempt to circumvent its historic and religious spiritual position with 1.5 billion Muslims and affirms the absolute rejection of any action by changing its legal status or recognizing it as the capital of Israel or transferring any embassy to it. We call on all countries to abide by international resolutions in this regard and not to use this issue in the game of political bidding, " he said.
Al-Maalami also pointed out that the international community at the Paris Peace Conference in the Middle East renews its commitment to the two-state solution as the only way to achieve peace. "The delegation of the Kingdom affirms that the road to peace is clear and well known: Independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its capital on the borders of June 4, 1967 ".
In regard of Syrian issue, Al-Maalami said 'in the past few days and weeks, we have witnessed serious developments in the Syrian tragedy: the Syrian authorities continue to use chemical weapons against their own people. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps and the sectarian militias, led by Hezbollah, continue to disregard human lives," he said. They practice murder, displacement and blockade in a hideous manner and don't care about the agreement, which is reached under international sponsorship, to stop the hostilities. The security council continued failure due to the excessive use of the veto to take the practical steps necessary for those who cause these acts. These groups earned a sense of immunity and they can do whatever they want without accountability. But history teaches us that the last word is always the right and justice, and that falsehood can not last, and the struggle of the Syrian people and their aspiration towards freedom and dignity will win even after a while. "
"The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has expressed its support for the military operations carried out by the United States against military targets in Syria. The Kingdom stresses the importance of the international community continuing to stand firm against the killings, siege, starvation, forced displacement. These practices have contributed to let the terrorist organizations such as ISIS for expansion in light of the power vacuum and be a partner in fight against the Syrian people. Saudi Arabia reaffirms its willingness in any joint international effort to eliminate such terrorist groups wherever they exist.
