UAE- Making a difference through music education

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Angie owes her renewed passion for music to Teacher Rose at Cadenza Music Institute LLC, who mentors students like a mother Singing, playing the piano, guitar, flute and violin were among the planned extracurricular activities in my life when I was younger. Growing up as the only child in the family in Abu Dhabi was challenging during the '90s, and listening to pop songs helped me cope with it.

After homework, music was the most exciting part of my life, as I got to sing any song I wanted. My nanny Rosa recognised my passion for singing and told my mother, who bought me my very first album by Mariah Carey. I found myself listening to every track of each album and memorising all the songs.

Later in school, my best friend in Grade 5, Chris Elda Marie Talosig, nominated me for a singing competition, where I'd won the first prize. This blessing continued until I reached my 20s. Despite my love for singing, I turned into a workaholic, as I grew older, and it became difficult to focus on pursuing a showbiz career.

As time passed, I met Teacher Rose, a magnanimous soul with a real passion for music. As she shared stories of her life, I felt inspired to sing again and learn to play musical instruments, despite having a full-time job. The hardships, persistence and endurance to keep moving forward, and the inspiration and motivation to live her dream were all so rewarding and empowering.

At the Cadenza Music Institute, I could see how truly a hardworking and passionate music teacher she was. When I had problems of my own, she reminded me I had music, that I was blessed with a talent for singing. Now I too live a life wherein I can do what I love and enjoy, singing while working.

Nathalie Joy Villareal, a Grade 1 piano student, who earned a distinction from her piano practical exam and theory exam, added: "Teacher Rose is simply the best. She makes sure that I get the best musical training that I could have at Cadenza Music Institute by continuously inspiring me to practice. Every lesson made me love music even more. She is strict, but sweet and funny too. She has a big heart for kids and she's like a mother to me. I love her and I'm very thankful for her dedication."

At Cadenza Music Institute LLC, we not only have a teacher, but also a mother we are blessed to have, as she reminds us that for every action we take, consider it a privilege we should not take for granted. For every problem there is a solution.
