GCC-UK Meetings on GCC-UK summit outcomes concluded

Riyadh, Jumada I 25, 1438, February 22, 2017, SPA -- A round of meetings between the Gulf Cooperation Council and the United Kingdom was concluded yesterday at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council. The second round of the GCC-UK meetings discussed the mechanisms of implementation of the outcomes of the first summit between the GCC and the United Kingdom held by the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council in Bahrain last December with UK's Prime Minister Theresa May.
Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Negotiations Dr. Abdul Aziz Hamad Aluwaisheg said that this round of talks, which was held over the past two days, focused on several issues, the most important of which are defense and regional security dialogue, the coordination of humanitarian and development aid, trade, investment and cultural and scientific cooperation.
He added that agreement was reached on operational steps to move towards the activation of the summit outcomes, in addition to coordination to hold the second summit between the GCC and the United Kingdom proposed to be held at the end of this year.
