New radio station to feature live updates from Muscat Festival


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- A new Arabic radio station, Muscat FM (also known as Radio Muscat) was officially launched at the station's headquarters in North Ghubra on Monday.

The launch event was held under the patronage of H E Dr Abdulmunim bin Mansour bin Said al Hasani, Minister of Information and Dr Abdullah al Harrasi, chairman of Public Authority for Radio and Television.

The 24x7 station, which will be aired on 105.3FM will initially focus on music from the Gulf and other Arab countries and will just broadcast four to five programmes. It will also air live updates from the Muscat Festival, said an official.

The station will air programmes on other subjects and cover other governorates at a later stage, the official added. The main aim of the station will be to focus on engaging Omani youth in various interactive programmes.

The station will hire and train Omani nationals who can anchor the programmes.
