Stranded Jordanian produce trucks to enter Saudi Arabia today

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Dozens of Jordanian vegetable trucks that were stranded at the Saudi Arabian border during the past few days due to a technical glitch will be allowed through today, following negotiations with Saudi authorities, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Affairs.

The ministry's spokesperson, Sabah al Rafei, told Petra that the ministry promptly contacted Saudi authorities after the Jordan Truck Owners Association chief reported that some 75 trucks had been stranded at the Haditha border post since Thursday due to a technical problem concerning visas.

The Jordan Exporters and Producers Association for Fruit and Vegetables had urged authorities to act swiftly to solve the problem, warning that the cargoes of fruits and vegetables would be damaged as a result of long delays.
