UAE, US sign MoU to increase energy cooperation


(MENAFN) The UAE's Ministry of Energy announced it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the US Ministry of Energy in order to strengthen the bilateral energy relationship, joint cooperation and the idea exchange between the two countries in the areas of energy, Khaleej Times reported.

The MoU between the US and the UAE is expected to create a framework for cooperation in the areas of energy and the energy-water nexus, as well as facilitating sharing technical knowledge, skills and expertise.

The MoU also discussed the cooperation fields between the two countries, which will initially focus on five areas, including energy policy formulation, energy efficiency, the energy-water nexus, carbon capture and storage, and unconventional oil and gas development.
