'Kuwait Set To Receive GCC Fighters Back From Syria'


(MENAFN- Arab Times) The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in cooperation with the security agencies in Kuwait, has started preparations to receive a big number of GCC fighters who joined the Syrian opposition, reports Al-Anba daily quoting sources



Sources explained this came after receiving intelligence report from the security agencies in some GCC countries on the alleged intention of the fighters to return to their homelands through Kuwait. Sources disclosed some of these fighters have been threatened with imprisonment if they continue fighting in Syria, while others decided to return home because they were injured and are not receiving proper medical care



Sources said other departure points mentioned in the intelligence report are Turkey, Iraq and Jordan. Sources confirmed the Kuwaiti security agencies are fully prepared for the arrival of the fighters, whose number is expected to reach thousands. Sources added the agencies have obtained information about these fighters from the latest statistical repor
