Jalali, WHO Chief Discuss Strengthening Health Programs
Jalali met Salvador and his delegation at his office, where the two sides also discussed continued international support for Afghanistan's health system and closer coordination to improve the implementation of a number of health programmes, according to a statement from the Ministry of Public Health.
The statement said the meeting focused on support from the international community for the country's health sector, the operation of the polio laboratory and mechanisms for introducing new initiatives in the health sector.
“We are working with full commitment to strengthen the country's health system, and, in cooperation with international organizations, we are striving to provide all citizens with high-quality health services,” Jalali said.
The two sides also discussed the World Health Organization's upcoming programmes, with the minister offering recommendations on related issues, the statement added.
