Kohistan Corruption Case: Qaiser Iqbal Relinquishes Massive Wealth
Accused Qaiser Iqbal was presented today before Accountability Judge Muhammad Zafar, where he recorded his statement. During the hearing, the court also directed NAB officials to leave the courtroom.
The court asked the accused whether he was surrendering his assets under any pressure, to which he confirmed that he was voluntarily relinquishing them.
The accused signed documents relinquishing assets worth more than Rs14 billion. According to NAB, over one kilogram of gold and more than Rs5.61 billion in Pakistani currency were recovered from the accused's house.
In addition, 21,000 Saudi Riyals, 8,000 US dollars, and 9,300 British pounds were also recovered, while luxury vehicles worth millions of rupees were taken into custody.

According to NAB officials, Rs1 billion had been transferred to the account of the accused's brother residing abroad, while another Rs1 billion was transferred to the account of a benamidar (frontman) named Amir Syed.
Furthermore, it was revealed that Rs2 billion had been transferred to another benami account.
Accused Qaiser Iqbal has also relinquished properties and other assets purchased in the names of benamidars.
It is worth mentioning that on November 6, 2025, the accountability court had ordered the judicial remand of eight accused arrested in the alleged embezzlement case involving more than Rs37 billion in Upper Kohistan.
According to NAB, investigations revealed that certain officials of the C&W Department, Accounts Office, and National Bank allegedly colluded to make fake withdrawals from the national treasury. It was alleged that more than Rs37 billion was illegally withdrawn under the guise of security deposits through account number G-10113.
